Excerpt From Vineyard Blog

We spend a fair amount of time thinking up interesting reasons for people to visit the winery and tasting room besides tasting our lovely wines and, today, we came up with something we're pretty sure you won't find anywhere else - at least not in Washington County in Oregon!

Among Jim's other interests besides wine, are the 14 horses who also call A Blooming Hill Vineyard their home. Before the original six moved here and began becoming 14....they lived in California where one of them pulled this fabulous, antique horse buggy.

Isn't it gorgeous?! It's called a Doctor's Buggy and is probably named for Erasmus Darwin, an English Doctor actually responsible for correcting the little problem it had of tipping over. He figured out how to solve that by changing from a rotating front axle to one that rotates with the rear wheels. These buggies (carriages in England...much more royal), were the main mode of transportation from about 1865 to 1915.

So, we are making it available for the fun of having a picture taken in it - or for proposing - or for pretending - or for daydreaming.
